When living in Lancaster student accommodation, we understand that things are bound to break and need repairing from time to time. If you have noticed that something in your student home needs repairing, please don’t hesitate to contact IPM repairs! Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do so.

If you have an emergency such as a fire or gas leak, please contact the emergency services immediately. However, if you have noticed a ‘non-emergency’ fault, such as a broken bed slat or flashing light bulb, here is how to report your repair request to the IPM team:

Step 1

On our website we have an email dedicated to just dealing with repairs, it is repairs@ipmlancaster.com. Please make sure if you are emailing in a repair to send it to this email only. If you send it to a different address, for example, a member of staff’s personal email, it may not be picked up as quickly due to different working days. Whereas there is always someone manning the repairs inbox and available to take your repair!

Step 2

Once you have emailed in your repair, we will then inform one of our corresponding contractors and they will go and tend to it. We cannot give you a definite time or date of when it will be attended to due to the chance of emergencies happening at other properties and those taking priority. However, we do aim to get all repairs seen and fixed as soon as we possibly can. We strive to keep you all as updated as possible via email/telephone.

Step 3

Once a contractor has been informed and visited the property, they may either fix the issue or begin the process of fixing it, such as ordering new parts if necessary. Again, we aim to get all repairs fixed as soon as we possibly can, however sometimes due to external factors such as waiting for new parts to arrive, or our contractors falling ill, it can take up to a few days.

Step 4

Once the repair has been completed IPM can tick it off our repair list. If another fault occurs in your property or the same repair issue keeps coming back, please do not hesitate to get back in touch at repairs@ipmlancaster.com.
