Welcome back to Lancaster and to your student home for your third and final (for some of you) term at university. Wanting to make the most of term 3? The weathers nicer, covid restrictions have lifted and there’s so much more to do, well look no further because here at IPM Lancaster we’ve put together a list of some exciting things happening in Lancaster over the next few months that you won’t want to miss out on.

Lancaster Food and Drinks Festival

The food and drink festival is something the locals absolutely love! Located just out of the town centre down at Lancaster Brewery, the food and drink festival is something major foodies and those who love a drink do not want to miss. This year the festival will be taking place from the 30th of April – 2nd May from 12pm – 6pm and will hold over 40 exciting stalls containing the best food and drink from the local area and beyond. Not only will you be able to enjoy hot street food, cheese, meats, sauces, wines, and spirits but there also may be some free samples available so you can try before you buy! Even better, this event is completely accessible as the whole festival is on one level, with blue badge parking and fully accessible toilets.

Highest Point Festival

By now if you’ve not heard of the highest point festival you must have been living under a rock. The showstopping local favourite will be returning to Williamson Park this May (12th -14th) with loads of incredible acts! This year there will be over 30 different acts playing across 4 different stages and luckily for IPM tenants, Williamson Park isn’t a long walk/drive/bus journey from any of our Lancaster student houses.

The Highest Point Festival is an event loved by both the locals of the area and those who travel from further afield to attend it. If you love music, dancing, and partying then this is not something you want to miss out on! Visit the highest point festival website where you can find ticket prices and more information

Lancaster Festa Italia

The successful Italian festival is back in May 2022 and better then ever. Head into Lancaster city centre between May 21st-29th to see the wonderful festa Italia! Lancaster city centre makes a perfect venue for this event due to a long history, such as being ruled by romans for over 400 years. Festa Italia is an event to celebrate all things Italian, with food, supercars, bikes and live music and entertainment in the streets, this popular event is not one to be missed.

Gaia: Calling Planet Earth to Lancaster Priory

Between June 25th – July 17th, Lancaster priory will be home to the spectacular artwork showcasing ‘how the world looks from the moon’. This global attraction is spending three weeks in Lancaster this summer and will inspire a brand-new festival within the city.
